Current research confirms that when people express themselves creatively they are happier and more fulfilled, they develop a more positive, confident and pro-active attitude to their personal and professional lives. Art making offers a unique holistic opportunity as it engages body, mind and soul at the same time. This allows people to experience what it is like to be totally present to themselves.

Creative CPD sessions are suitable for all professionals and can be adapted to the needs of any group. Research shows that we all have different learning styles which makes a creative CPD so relevant and beneficial because it accommodates individuality as a positive developmental tool, whilst also building on group process.
Within a creative CPD participants have an opportunity to explore their field of work through the use of creative materials in a safe, non- judgemental and convivial atmosphere. No artistic skill is required and no artistic standard expected.
There is a growing awareness of the ‘use of self’ in many professional roles, it is crucial therefore that we are not only developing professionally but also personally. A creative CPD allows for development on many levels. Through the process of self- reflection, which is integral to creative expression, negative patterns can be unblocked and flexibility and openness increased.
A Creative CPD is an opportunity for staff support and self- empowerment whilst also allowing for greater collaboration and expansion of learning possibilities.

These sessions are for practitioners who require regular supervision and who are drawn towards exploring and processing their client work in creative ways. The methods I use are based on the latest research findings, Best Practice and effective Models of Supervision in order to offer my supervisees maximum support with their clients and within the wider organisational contexts of their work. These sessions are beneficial for all supervisees but particularly for those who want to develop greater reflective and intuitive qualities in their work.
During each supervision session we will make use of both the inside environment of the therapy studio and the outside environment of nature and the elements. This provides an holistic approach which utilises the benefits of both the enclosed and open aspects of the space whilst also reflecting these essential elements within supervision itself and within the world of therapeutic practice in general, thus bringing these inner and outer worlds into sharper focus.
Supervisees are invited to engage with a variety of creative materials and methods throughout the sessions, for example sand tray, mandala, sculpting, expressive art and visualisation, in order to express whatever is coming up for them in the supervision session with regards to their work. In this way, the supervisees will have the opportunity to view the situation from different perspectives, gaining new awareness and insights. There is an educative element to the sessions as supervisees gain skills and the confidence to incorporate creative methods in their own practice with clients.
The supervision sessions take place at my private practice in Flagmount Co Clare, both in the well equipped therapy studio and in the beautiful natural outdoor space around it.
